Are you responsible for bringing a dessert to the Thanksgiving table this year? Are you hoping to not go completely off kilter and want to keep it relatively healthy? Well then, I will tell you now that you are being very wise! To me, there’s nothing worth eating if it’s going to leave you feeling ill and totally off your game for the few days…or in the toilet for a few nights!
So let’s talk damage control! The good new is I’m here to tell you that you CAN have your cake and eat it too! Just make sure that the ingredients in your cake are real food ingredients. I’m talking quality fats; like butter, ghee, and coconut oil. I’m also talking healthier sweeteners; like raw local honey, real maple syrup, coconut palm sugar, or even whole fruit or fragrant spices like cinnamon.
To help make it a little easier for you to “keep it real,” here is a compiled list of twenty 100% real, 100% whole food dessert recipes. Any one of these recipes would make a wonderfully delicious and nutritious addition to your Thanksgiving dessert table. These recipes are suitable for most allergies or sensitivities: all are gluten and grain-free, and almost all are dairy-free and egg-free.
